Songbird trio

 

Three adult male zebra finches (Taeniopygia guttata), each displaying a different colour morph. Male zebra finches learn the acoustic structure of song during development, and use the song to court females as adults.

One of the best perks of studying in the Sakata Lab was the occasional photoshoot with these avian stars.
